Thanks for all the support for this little project I've made! :D
Yea, this is mostly just a big thank you to everyone who's played my game, reviewed it, and all that jazz! I really appreciate all the feedback and criticisms I've gotten so far, it makes me more motivated to work on this stuff knowing that people enjoy it. I mostly made Idolize to just be a test to learn how to use rpgmaker to make a yume nikki fangame (the game ended up not really like yume nikki at all) but all the support I've gotten has led me to branch out a bit more in ideas and experiment with game engines other than rpgmaker, which has been pretty fun so far. Idolize obviously isn't anything groundbreaking or stuff like that, but it's nice to know that a good amount of people still enjoyed it. So thanks for that :)
If it isn't too obvious yet this probably isn't gonna be the last game I'll make and share with you guys, though I'm still experimenting with what I want to do. I have a lot of ideas but I feel like I need to flesh them out a bit more since one of the bigger criticisms Idolize got was that it's kind of bland and doesn't have too much to do in it. I do have an idea in the works for a point-and-click game that's still in the horror genre, but it will be less body horror and more psychological horror than Idolize. I'll just have to figure out Gamemaker a bit more, lol.
Is Idolize going to get a new game?
Yep, though it's not exactly my top priority right now. I also want to flesh it out and let myself think of the story a bit harder. It'll still be duo chromatic and parasocial and all that, just bigger! I've made some concept stuff below if this is something you'd be interested in :D

ty! I used libresprite for all the sprites in the game and used ibispaint for the cutscenes such as the ones on the balcony. If you're using an older version of rpgmaker you'll want to export your sprite with the indexed color mode or else it won't work in rpgmaker :)

who is the protagonist and why is her name censored? She seems to be a really popular idol with many obsession fans.
What about the Mushrooms that grow from the protagonist? It looks like it came from the aging drugs that she takes.

The protagonist is a celebrity known for modeling and acting! They also work with big companies to produce their blood and organ products, which are marketed as a sort of "need-to-have" product, which makes them even more popular. Their name is censored as I couldn't really think of a name to fit them lol, and also cause I'd like to see whatever name people give them. :D
They also go by they/them but I can see why some ppl think they're she/her from their longer hair so it doesn't rlly bother meThe mushrooms are a result of the anti-aging medicine, which was supposed to repair and replace dead cells, but it kinda got out of hand. I'm definitely gonna explain it more in the sequel of this game. :)
The next game I'm planning to do is gonna try and replicate the old click-and-drag flash game style of games I used to play when I was younger, at least in a sense. It will take place in a hospital and you'll play as a doctor tending to patients, mostly. It'll definitely take longer than idolize, not just because of how much more there'll be to do but because I'm soon going back to school in the next two weeks. But that's fine! I'll still probably post doodles or things about it on my tumblr if you want to see it :D
